P34, whats similiar?

Recommended Posts

Just broke my last p34 hamrlik blade and need to know what there is out there like it since its not made anymore. Ive checked all sorts of blade charts but dont think they are really that accurate and ive also noticed that the same style patterns differ slightly company to company. So far Ive tried the cammilleri, zetterberg, savard and pm9, so far I like the pm9 but would like a slightly higher lie. Anyone have experience with the p34 and then transitioning into something newer? How about p106? P40? Thanks

I've been using CCM/Reebok blades/sticks for the last few years, and I've been using the P36. I haven't seen the P34 in person, but they look similar. P36 would be more open than the P34, not sure if that would still work for you. P36's can be found online still. I've been migrating from CCM's Sundin, to Kaberle, to the P36(Phaneuf). Good luck with your search!

Try the P88 Kane. It's a 6 lie compared to the 5 on the PM9, but it has a slightly bigger curve.

I agree with this except that the P88 has so much rocker, that it plays quite a bit differently, IMO. The lie on the P88 seems closer to a 5 than a 6 (compared to an easton lie 5).

I'm kind of the opposite of the OP, I like the looks of the P34 (compared to P9), but the lie is too high for me.

With the heel to middle down it is closer to a 5, with the middle to toe down it is more like a 6, with the blade flat and only the middle down, it is more like a 5.5

Yea, that would be an accurate way to describe it.

So let me ask this, the reebok p34 says its a 6lie(which I liked) is that accurate? so if I could get a pm9(lie5) in a lie 6, it should work for me? how about the reebok lie 6 compared with warrior lies?

Im considering odering come base blades in 6 lie but now im really worried about rocker and how different companies measure lie? anyone make a chart stating what lies are compareable from company to company

I haven't done a comparison lately but I recall CCM/RBK measuring their lies somewhat differently than "standard" and are lower than marked. Warrior lies are all significantly higher than marked, with larger rockers on the bottom being farther off than smaller rockers.

Sorry for the delay. No one else in the apartment. Had to clamp the sticks together.

Front to Back- Warrior Dolo Savard, Bauer X60 PM9, Reebok 2 piece P34

Warrior and Bauer are close to identical with the Bauer having a slightly higher lie. Obviously, the P34 is the highest lie out of the 3.

Cool. Looks like my question about if a pm9 in 6lie would work well has been answered. Now justt need to find them... Thanks

Like I said before, Base can make blades or sticks for you in a PM9 with a lie 6. Just send them an e-mail.
