Does using paint stripper on a stick effect the carbon fiber or flex of the shaft?

I would imagine that it would affect the carbon fiber as the paint stripper would break down the epoxy used to hold the carbon fiber together.

Any chemical strong enough to strip paint is likely to have a negative effect on the structure of the stick.
