Helmet Sizing Advice

So I recently acquired a pro stock CCM Vector 08 helmet in a size large. Previously I was in a Vector 10 helmet size large and it fit perfect. Unfortunately with the cage on the new vector 8 the helmet gets tugged down a bit when moving my head quickly which is annoying. Is there any way to add padding or does anyone have any advice on keeping the helmet from feeling a little sloppy. I can't believe two helmets of the same size and manufacturer fit so differently due to the padding type. I have a pro stock Bauer 9500 helmet in a medium and it fits way too snug so dropping down a size may not work. I thought of taking some of the gel padding inserts out of an older helmet and adding them in a couple spots to snug it up a bit might help.

You can wear a headband or get a headband, cut it in half, add velcro to the helmet and headband and velcro into place. Swap out the headbands as needed, added advantage is it stops sweat dripping into your eyes.

I like the Velcro idea. I may pull one of the gel pads out of one of my old Bauer 5500 helmets and Velcro it in place. I literally need maybe 1/16" to make it perfect and not slide around as much.

The V08 fits very large, most people go down a size in those.

Added the pad from the front of my old Bauer 5000 helmet via velcro. So far it fits secure now. Hopefully it holds up.
