X60 liner help

So I just bought some used X60 skates and have seen that the lining of the skate wears down and rips along the eyelets of the X50/X60 models (where the edges of the tongue rub). Any suggestions on something to put there to prevent this premature wear?

A buddy of mine had similar wear on his CCM V08 skates- I put a thin coat of Shoe Goo just behind and around the eyelets a few months ago and it's worked great.
