Time to replace blade holders - advice needed

Recommended Posts

My old Prolite holders on my Tacks have finally cracked. I am considering the ePro or Tuuk LS2's as replacements but keep getting different information as to the pitch of these holders. I have heard everything from the Tuuks will put me more on my toes than the ePro to the Tuuks will put me back on my heels pretty far. Can someone in the know give me the straight answer? Any other pros/cons of these two holders that might influence me? Thanks much.

Thanks for the offer. It is a 263 for the right but I think that I am just going to make the change to new holders as it is going to be harder and harder to find the Prolite's when the next one cracks.

Stick with the E-Pros as the pitch will be the same, and you get to keep your steel.
Thanks JR. I have always thought that the Prolite's felt pretty neutral. Will the Tuuks put me further forward? On a related note, am I correct that the "stock" radius on the blades is 9' on the Tuuks and 10' on the ePros (same as my current blades)?

Just one note, the radius at the time when prolites were used was 11'. That changed to 10' a few years ago. If you will be getting new steel, you'll get the 10', if you reuse old steel it will be the 11', but if it's that old, it's likely that radius was altered over the years and is no longer 11'.

Good point Jimmy. They are old and, therefore, they probably started out as 11'. Who knows what they really are now and with little amount of steel left I am probably just going to bite the bullet and get new holders and steel. Now the question is ePro with 10' radius or Tuuks with 9'. At the end of the day is there any difference in the holders? Steel can be profiled regardless. Thanks to all for your input.
