joshgrind 1 Report post Posted April 12, 2013 I will be in Boston April 20th-23rd and I am thinking about bringing my gear for a pick-up or a stick and puck. Are there multiple rinks? If so, which do you prefer?
badger_14 601 Report post Posted April 12, 2013 There are many rinks in the Boston area. Depends on where you'll be and if you'll have a car (I assume yes?)
the_game 452 Report post Posted April 12, 2013 Depends on where you are going to be & what your skill level is.Boston has Stinkysocks.net & mahockeyleague.com where you can sign up online for pick up games
joshgrind 1 Report post Posted April 13, 2013 I will have a car. And I have just picked the game back up about 2 years ago after a 10 year hiatus. Played from age 8-15. So I know where to be on the ice and know how to play myposition. But, not very skilled as far as shooting and stick handling. Thanks for the links!
badger_14 601 Report post Posted April 13, 2013 Ask around on Craigslist too. Also, Boch Ice in Dedham (off rt. 128) has public hockey, and check out fmcicesports.com (they run several of the state-owned rinks) - should be some stick time at West Roxbury, maybe Cambridge or East Boston if you want to go that far afield. Babson College has public hockey, that's in Wellesley, about 20 minutes west of Boston.
