Where to get good/decent goalie equipment

Recommended Posts

We've been playing more and more street hockey, and whoever gets stuck in goal has to use the absolute worst goalie equipment. Ive been looking around to try to pick up something decent, but im not sure whether i might be better off buying used from somewhere.

My mask might be OK - its just an old franklin street hockey mask - just put new straps in it.

Everything else is awful. Craigslist sucks in my area (Connecticut), so im almost tempted to buy something like this: http://www.goaliemonkey.com/vaughn-goalie-combo-velocity-street-sr.html

or this:

or this:

any good, or should i be looking elsewhere. A few other guys might be chipping in since we might be doing a league this summer, so if these really suck, and spending more would get me something way better Ill do that. Also if anyone on here is selling gear lemme know.

Hey,

It all depends on the surface you are using. Also post In the Goalie Section might help with some cheap gear etc. I know there are some good how to threads on where people have put plastic protection onto a good set of pads to use playing on the street.

Last year I put together a kit by buying bits and pieces of e-bay. If you do it smart you could have decent used gear with a lot better quality for the same price if not cheaper.
