Easton Intermediate sticks - cut points and flex

Recommended Posts

I've searched the site on stick length and flex and have seen a few people mention that sometimes a sticks flex rating actually starts at maybe 3" to 6" from the end of a stick. Does anyone know if this holds true for Easton sticks?

My son's coach says he should probably move to an intermediate stick (he is using a Jr, 50 flex w/end plug now), but I'm concerned if I cut the intermediate stick down too much it will make the stick too stiff. If I've calculated correctly, I would only cut about 4" to 4.5" off the intermediate stick (if the intermediate is in fact 58"), thus was wondering if it would have an affect on the sticks flex rating.

I've noticed on the Easton sticks, that they offer a 60 or 65 flex on their high end Mako stick, but the rest of the intermediates are only 65 flex rating. I think we could live with the 65 flex, but I'm concerned if it gets too much over 70 it will be to stiff.

It may be a long shot, but if anyone can relate the above information to the older (2011/12?) Easton Stealth 75S as I've seen those intermediate sticks on closeout and he just happens to love that stick!

Thanks for any insight you can provide!

You could throw an Oggie Grip in there to restore some of the lost flex when you cut down the 65 flex.
