Pant choice

Recommended Posts

What pants fit shorter wider guys the best? I tried a RBK 7K Large and it was just a little too long, but the medium was too small in the waist. Any brand recommendations?

And, what's the difference in fit for the Easton line between the Synergy and Stealth lines?

CCM pants fit shorter lengthwise size for size, but the thicker design on the hip and kidney panels offer a rather snug fit which works for some wider guys but not for others. Same goes for the snug waist fit of some Tacklas .Might want to try a Large first in CCM. Bauer's previous Supreme line and current Nexus line have a traditional tubular fit but are 'regular' length. Might want to try Medium first in those.

Easton Synergy might work well, which brings us to your next question. Stealth is a more 'modern' forward canted pant, similar to the Warrior Projekt and somewhat to Bauer Vapor. Thinner kidney and hip padding with a higher raised spine guard. Synergy is similar in regards to the spine pads, but is more traditionally canted and not having any particularly thin padding. The current Mako line, I find, is a bit of a mix between the two.

I prefer a more traditional pant if that means anything. My former pants were an old pair of Bauer Supremes from maybe 15 years ago. Does tackla tend to fit bigger or smaller?

I'm currently in a pair of Synergy ST16 pants. They offer a good balance between protection and mobility. Had them for 3+ years and they're still in decent condition. They definitely fit a little longer than the CCM's I was in previously.

Neither. though like I said, some people with a wider waist had difficulty or could not at all fit into the waist of certain tackla models.

Yea, weirdly I ended up picking up a pair of Supreme TotalOne pants waist felt right at Medium and the pants flared out more in the thighs which is good because I have tree trunk legs.

Then they were trying on a size that was too small.

Nope. it was simply too narrow in the waist for some when trying on certain models. otherwise, they would've been too long.

That's why they make short models. Too small at the waist on a piece of gear sized by waist size, means they were too small.
