Bauer Supreme One.8 vs Bauer Supreme TotalOne NXG Pants

Recommended Posts

I am looking into moving to a girdle style setup and like the way the Supreme line fit. I have tried on the TO NXG and love it but the One.8 is about $50 cheaper.

Is the TO NXG worth the extra money? How long will the girdle setup last? I have concerns of it not being as durable compared to regular hockey pants.

Currently playing with Bauer Vapor XXX pants. I have read the TotalOne NXG Girdle breakdown and found it useful but haven't tried on the One.8 or seen them in person to compare. Have not seen them at the LHS.

Thanks for any/all feedback!

Basically you want to think of the differences between the two from a protection and shell features are:

PROTECTION:

NXG = PRO LEVEL (Poron, molded Vent Armor foam, additional coverage)

ONE.8 = PERFORMANCE LEVEL (HD foams, traditional molded poly, slightly less coverage-mainly in the front panels)

SHELL:

NXG = PRO LEVEL (800 Denier Nylons, added padding. The padding does two things. 1) It adds a bit of protection. 2) Also helps to prevent board burns)

ONE.8 = PERFORMANCE LEVEL (400 Denier nylons, no padding)

I realized the fit / movement is quite different.

Had the issue of NXG interfering with shin guards - experienced One 8 to move more easily and still great Protection.
