How do I measure myself to know what size to get?

I'm assuming it's the helmet as the skates and elbows aren't very available anymore outside of getting lucky on a clearance website. It's usually measured by circumference, but if any of these helmet threads haven't taught you anything, you've got to try it on before you buy.

Yeah, and I can't try it on because we are ordering it online with the team purchase for 45$ so it's pretty cheap, and how do I measure the circumference of my head I forget what I learned in math.

Circumference is the distance around the outside of a circle. In this case, this distance around the outside of your head.
