Cleaning your pads

Recommended Posts

Magic Eraser doesn't do the job. Goof-Off gets everything off, even the dirtyness that gets caked in the grain of the jenpo or whatever your pad is comosped of :P

I've been using Goof-Off for years, it doesn't damage the material or remove the color, but it will remove screened on logos so be careful about that. Also use it outside or you house will REEK for many hours.

For me, i use Goof Off to get the puck marks off of everything, then depending if it is synthetic leather or real leather i use different products. for synthetic products i use spray silicone not only to keep a shine on it but also makes it easy to keep it clean. for leather i use gel shaving cream with lanolin, it is cheap and also keeps the leather soft so it can take an impact and recover its elasticity. also if you are bored you can get a large can of clear shoe polish and put a shine on them, this also seals in moisture to keep the leather supple.

Be careful with silicone products. Once silicone gets on something it's near imposible to get it off and you need to keep using it, and depending.on the formula it may attract dirt as well. This is why I stay away from armor all and other car care products that contain silicone when detailing my car.
