Yup, Cairns got suspended for hitting a ref, apparently. He fought Belak, and lost the plot in a fairly big way, so the reports went. I'm not sure if the Elite Leauge actually announced his suspension, but that was near the end of the season, and the last anybody saw of him on the ice.

Well im a londoner so is have to say the Racers but if they were still going i would say the Knights

I don't think the NHL guys made a difference to the racers, second to bottom.... they only managed to finish above the mighty basingstoke bison despite their "NHL" players.

I think if anything ,this season will have shown NHL GM's that for 3rd/4th line players they don't have to pay the big money and there are guys in Europe who will do as good of a job and happily play for half the money. Guys who were wrong place/wrong time when they had their first shot.

The only NHLer ive seen play good in an elite team is Nick Boynton, from what i seen him playing at the oydessy and at the playoffs hes amazing (and only about 2 months ago i realised he was sponsered by mission so i like him even more!!!!)

Not sure if anyone mentioned about Eric Cairns. He did all Nottingham Panthers fans a favour and did what we have wanted to do to Andy Carson for some years now! :D

I only saw Cairns the one time when the Racers were up in Fife, and to say that him and Maxwell got a lot of stick off the crowd is a bit of an understatement...... :D

Apparnetly they liked it, actually - with there being no glass they can hear everything the crowd yells so much better!

i know this is a bit late but cairns got an indefinate ban in the UK, in the playoffs he touched the ref (empahsis on touched), and it was all blown way out of proportion, but i doubt he will be back here next season :-(
