Looking for new curve from PM9/P4

Recommended Posts

I've been using the PM9 and P4 curve for a little while now because I didnt want my passing to suffer (still a beginner), but I'd like to use something a little more open. Any suggestions?

I'd try the Sherwood Ryan. Not too open and a full heel where the PM9's a mid heel with a bit of loft. Plays close to the same lie as well.

And that is what I have typically come to believe, but if you read more into itit seems like the T-series has more of a variable kick like the RBZ. Also, some sites list it as low.

I have read too that the T100 specifically has been designed more as a mid-kick than other T-series sticks

T series is a "traditional taper" like the older Synergy/ST/SL style sticks. It has a lower kick point than a non-tapered stick but not as low as an APX or something like that.

I second the Ryan. Great curve that's not too open but enough to get your snap and slap shots up with ease. P106 Richards (Bauer) is almost identical to the PP09 but with a higher lie if you want to try a shorter stick.

I would avoid the super low kick sticks if you are a beginner, you will never learn to feel a stick load and release.

I'm using a mako now and was using a nexus prior to that. I prefer the feel of the mako, I just would like to get a little more lift in close and on snappers

Based on what you've been telling us, I'd say your best bet is a T90 in PP09 Ryan. As mentioned above, the T90 isn't a 'true' mid-kick stick. The kickpoint is probably similar to the Mako (both are traditional taper). In terms of retail sticks at regular price, the T90 is definitely the best bang for your buck. If you want an engineered low kickpoint (more like RSII, 20k, APX, etc.), go for the Nexon N10 or N12 in PP09 Ryan.

P.S. I'm not a Sher-Wood rep. I currently use Bauer and Reebok, but if I had to buy a stick at retail, I'd definitely go Sher-Wood.

The T90 with the Ryan curve sounds like exactly what you're looking for. The Mako is of the traditional synergy construction and not the super low kick point style.

Great minds think alike! :D
