Tapered Shaft Flex Profile with Long Hosel Blades

Recommended Posts

So I recently struck gold and came across batch of pro stock graphite T-Flex blades. Coming from a 77 APX (which is more like an 82 by most standards), would it make sense to go with a 75 or 85 in either a Mako II or AX1T to try to get close to that flex profile?

Given that they are long hosel blades, I'm not exactly sure how they will interact with shafts designed for short hosel use as I'll need to cut off a few extra inches (last shaft I used comp T-Flex blades in was...a comp 85 T-Flex, maybe back in 2004). Note that I'm not considering the APX tapered as I'd prefer a square shaft.

Using a T flex blade with a shaft designed for short hosel blades will effectively raise the kick point of the shaft by a couple inches. It should essentially serve to soften the flex slightly, if anything.
