GRAF ULTRA G3 MODEL 11

I have just purchased a pair of GRAF ULTRA G3 Model 11 skates. The skates looked great out of the box but after skating in them for the first time noticed that the outsole had some separation on the left skate. Small but noticeable. I know this is common with GRAF. Is there a risk the skate will breakdown or will the runner holder bolts and carbon fibre core which I understand are part of the insole as well , hold it all together ? The skates feel great !

Post a picture -- that'll help.

My g75 and g35x all had a gap between the outsole and the upper around the toe cap, wasn't an issue.

Filled the gap with fibreglass strands and Loctite Super Gel which is flexible and waterproof to prevent moisture getting in which has held up well after 1.5 hours of pretty aggressive skating. It is just annoying to see this on a brand new pair of skates. I don't care about the appearance I just want to be assured the skate isn't going to fall to bits at the beginning of it's life !

on my old g3's i had that prolbem for years and it didnt affect anything nor did it break down any quicker that i noticed

Yeah, that gap is common.

Graf isn't exactly known for great build quality, but those little fitment issues don't affect durability or performance.

Thanks for the information. I feel more relaxed about it. Not my first time with Grafs and I know they are very durable.

My Graf Ultra G5's have the same thing. I wondered the same thing as you, but after nearly two years of weekend warrior use, they are fine.
