Trying to find a similar stick...

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone, I have been out of the game for a while but getting back in. Technology has come a far way since I have played. I was real comfortable with a 1996-99 era Easton T-flex 85 with a Roenick t-flex branded blade (two piece stick, of course). Are their any similar one piece sticks out today that have similar characteristics? I couldn't find any information online on the t-flex roenick blade and what the successor today is. Any help is appreciated :)

Was it the black "pro" model wood blade, composite or the normal wood colored blade? If it was the normal one, a SWD T90 in the Ryan curve is probably as close as you will find.

The Roenick pattern blades I had from that time frame were short length mid curves with a little twist. The Ryan may be a little more heel-ish.

The consistency of the wood blades was never all that great. The ones I had were all deeper and more of a heel than Modanos. Zhamnov's were more of a mid and the original Sakic was a nice moderate mid curve with very little loft.

True, Easton did like to have you searching thru the bin to find the one you really wanted.

They weren't the only ones, I still miss the old Lindros curve, the mid heel with a little loft.

It was the non-black wooden curve! Thanks for the responoses so far :)

For what it's worth I'm reading reviews on the sherwood t90 and one person commented the stick felt boxier than most. I remember the T-flex having this feeling as well, so I think you guys have put me on the right track. I bought an easton mako 2 hall (85 flex/5.5 lie) the other day - haven't had a chance to use it, but it was 50% off so figured that was a good price. Looks like I may have to get this T90 as well :)

The Mako II should work pretty well for you, finding the right curve will be the hardest part.
