RBK Heel Lock- 16K

I have a pair of RBK 16K 7EE skates and I'm finding the material in the heel area on the inside of the boot is wearing more quickly than any other part. The heel lock isn't what it should be. I have a little too much room and the D size was too narrow. Any suggestions? Does RBK tend to have a wider heel? I have a wider foot so I don't see many options for other brands to improve the heel lock.

reebok is a wider boot overall. how long have you had the skate?

I've had it about 6 months.

How do you measure heel width or is it just a feel thing?

There is not a skate on the market that can be measured for heel width as everyone's heel shape is different and one companies A is anothers AA or B. It is so all over the map. The best solution for heel fit is the Stable 26 socks.

yeah, but it seems the heel lock in his skate is wearing down, and dont those have the pumps too? the problem is the skate breaks down fast, this happened with my reebok, first 3 months were cool, 6 month mark it was noticeably not the same skate, 1 year mark it was time for a new pair.

yea, I haven't really been using the pump. Seems I've been losing the heel lock as I go.

I edited my last post right above this so re-read it but try the pump, I went from no pump, to 3, to 6....

when you say narrow how much are we talking??

cause you can always make room but cant take it away
