loose blade on the bauer one 20s

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased a paor of the bauer one 20s. I knew they werent of the highest qaulity but they were only 60 bucks and spend 300 plus on skates anymore is just out of the question to me. I noticied that they had a loose runner on the left skate and I thought id just tighten it up when I got home. I took the in soul out and got my 8 mm swivel drive out but there is no cap and no hole to reach the nut. They have tuuk holders on them and every other tuuk holders ive ever owned tighten the runner the same way. So if i drilled a hole would the nut be there like it always is or do i need to have the holders removed by someone with a rivet press. I know they are cheap but these skates are really comfortable and really light. Id just like the blade tightened up.

there shouldn't be a hole where there is one normally. You can't change the runners on those skates. I believe its all one piece. Perhaps talking to the shop where you bought them from it could be a possible defect. I'm not sure how much it moves and if bauer would consider them up to speck for the skates.

I've seen it on a couple times on Bauer lower-end skates like the ONE20 and ONE.4. Its common, probably nothing to worry about but if your shop sends it back Bauer will replace the skates under warranty.

?

Anyhow, strose is right, it's a one piece setup, non-replaceable steel.

Let me re-phrase. Its a common issue. I've seen it multiple times at the store I work at. Bauer will replace the skates.

Bauer will replace the skates.

Steel. Easiest thing to do is just replace the holders; they have a 1 yr warranty.

Your LHS should be able to put on the replacement holder.

Thanks for the feedback. Thing is I bought these from a neighbor that wanted to learn how to skate, and gave up. My old bauer50s were just completely wornout and the one 20s looked pretty good actually. Ive looked into new holders, but they are just about as much as i paid for the skates. If I get a season or 2 out of them I will be happy, then maybe drop more than 60 bucks on my next pair.
