Baking one.5?

Recommended Posts

I got new skates for recreational use but due to my weird feet I've always had problems with my skates fitting comfortably.

These are the first skates that feel pretty decent out of the box, and I imagine they can only improve by skating (I got EE width).

I haven't found any specific instruction for this skate on the internet, and no instructions were included in the packaging.

How should I do this?

Also, my feet should be able to wiggle/tilt sideways a little right, not be 100% fixed? (Not talking about forward/backwards leaning)

Does the footbed fit?

Baking will never change footbed fit or volume, but it can help fit areas that are only slightly problematic.

I baked an old pair of non heat-formable skates and it vastly helped hot spots at my ankle bones. 200*F until the quarters softened.

Caveat emptor. They're not made of thermo foam or composite, but most manmade materials respond to heat. Be very careful you don't overheat and delaminate the glues. Stitching doesn't care. You could ruin them or you could make them awesome.

It's the best fitting skate I've tried.

The length is just perfect, just like every guide says it should be (barely touching the toe cap when fitting the skates and not able to touch it when I'm in my skating stance).

It's maybe a little narrow in the middle but or maybe I'm just tightening them too tight.

And no my foot doesn't move at all, I'm just able to move my leg sideways slightly (like forward/backward but sideways).

I don't have much options to choose from at this price point.

Apparently the one.6 is heat moldable, it's the same material as one.5 why can't I mold mine?

Maybe I should just wear the at home to make the process quicker.

Do you have hot spots (tight spots?) loose spots?

If they're just minor, skating is the best way to break them in. Wear them around the house if you have minor hot spots, take them off as soon as your foot starts to hurt.
