Kick point prefrence

Recommended Posts

Kick point is where the concentration of the flex is on the shaft. Low kick point has a quicker release and mid kick points have a slightly slower release but generates more flex and power.

I find that the mid kick point works better for my game. All depends on preference and hand position. What are you looking to get out of your shot and what sticks have you been looking at?

The 20K isn't a true low kick point stick. I've got one. Something like an Easton V9E, Warrior Covert DT1, or APX2 would be closure to what are advertised as 'true' low-kick sticks. Although, I think some on here would argue that the APX2 is a dual kick-point but I'm not quite sure I know what that means on the ice.

Reebok 20k IS a true low kick point stick. I've got one too.

My bad.

I love it. It has held up pretty well for me. Huge fan of the Datsyuk curve myself. It's on sale all over right now believe. Have you looked at the Ribcor?

Yea, I hear you. No doubt. That being said, have you looked at some of the Sher-wood stuff? They have some wicked deals and I've found them to be pretty durable especially good if you're on a budget.

Never checked them out really havent heard much about them

They have a very good reputation around here (and on pretty much every online gear community AFAIK). Durable, inexpensive, high-quality. I like their vast choice of curves and the versatility of their sticks (low-kick versions of their mid-kick sticks, the T90 and T100, are available). The T90 was already a very good stick, but the introduction of the T100 and EK15 has made Sher-Wood a serious competitor on the high-end sticks market.

As soon as the VRF.2 version of the T90 drops (I was told in March), I'm getting one.

I've been using a Sher-Wood T50 for ball hockey for almost a year now. I play 2-4 times a week and it's still in one piece. It does have a chip out of the blade but that's it. Pretty durable sticks if I must say so. And I paid $27 for it. All things considered, great value.

Yea, I've had a T100 for about 8 months now and the thing has been a tank. I play 2-3 times a week and I've just got the normal little cosmetic stuff. Plus, it's a top end stick for 160$
