skate blisters/rubs & helmet friction prevention- ideal product?

Recommended Posts

i just purchased this product. i don't know how it's going to work but from all the great reviews i'm sure it will do a great job in helping people break in their skates and prevent rubs/blisters.

i'm also going to use it on my forehead as i get a line when wearing my helmet.(you can actually see the small rectangular re-akt pad marks on my forehead skin)..any reduced friction might make it go away.....or i just may need to get the reebok 11k instead of the re-akt

has anybody tried this product?

well,..it may work on preventing blisters, but the white/red line i get on my forehead from my helmet still persists.

the helmet fits fine when i put it on, and starts out fine, but after around an hour it stats to bother me...i guess the blood in my head makes it expand?

what is a solution here?

change helmet?

would Vaseline work?..

Vinyl Nitrile is what is used in the 5100 series helmet and such. I want to pick up a little bit of it and try it in my Easton that is almost purely EPP... for no other reason than I hope it works as a sweat band.

Not sure if that is what you are looking for.

Change helmet or wear a sweat band. I now always carry sweat bands in my bag, the number of times someone out of my family / team (play or coach) has left a helmet behind or had equipment malfunction during practice / game / scrimmage is too numerous to count. Plonk a different helmet on their head and it rarely fits perfect, add a sweat band and most fit or pinching issues go away.

It sounds like the helmet is a little too tight. Your head shouldn't swell that much over the course of a game.

VN doe not make for a good sweat band.
