What does your diet look like pre & mid season?

Hi Guys,


I just wanted to see what some of you are doing to stay lean, energised and clean during the season.


What are you eating?

When are you eating?

What type of routine do you work with?



I'm currently refining and tweaking my diet as it's almost the perfect balance of high protein, hight vegetable, low fruit and low carbohydrate.

Curious to know who is doing what?

Depends on what I am doing in the gym.

Right now:

-Water all through the day

Breakfast:

-2 whole eggs, 4 whites, 1 glass of Metamucil, 1/2 cup applesauce, 1/2 cup of steel cut oats (uncooked)

Lunch

-2 whole eggs, 5 whites, 1 cup uncooked grain (brown rice, quinoa, while wheat pasta), 2 cups vegetable of some kind

Afternoon snack

-Gainer protein shake

Dinner

-Repeat lunch, though usually chicken or beef instead of egg

Late night snack

-Gainer protein shake

Oh, what routine:

Right now: Gym 5 days a week heavy lifting, hockey 3 times, maybe 4.

I noticed certain things work for me on game day while others don't. Pasta is pretty neutral for me, but if I drink loads of water and eat a solid plate of spaghetti and rotisserie chicken breast with salad 4-5 hours before, I'll feel pretty ready to go for the game. Even a good plate of curry chicken (crazy I know) will juice me up. I think I just need the salad with anything I eat and I will be good to go.
