X90 vs X100

Recommended Posts

I just bought the bauer x90 skates, the guy who sold them to me told me that I'm better off getting these because these are the exact same thing as the x100 and they cost $100 less. Is he right?

Don't think that's correct. X100 are basically an updated original APX with the full composite boot. The X90 are the updated Vapor X7.0 which was an updated version of the X:60 from a few years back, with the tech mesh material on the boot.

He is wrong. Like CTB said, the x:90 is the tech mesh, and the X100 has the Curv composite

As far as being the exact same thing, yes, the skates are different. However, giving this guy the benefit of the doubt, what he may have been trying to convey was that the x90s would have similar fit, stiffness, and performance to the x100s, so much so that most people probably can't tell the difference on the ice and the $100 extra really isn't worth it. That's a matter of opinion, but I know a lot of people who would tend to agree.
