Choosing new skates, bauer vs rbk

Recommended Posts

Hey guys I'm looking for some opinions on new hockey skates, My Vapor XXXX are really finished been using these since my second year in Junior AA and before that I had some Vapor XX and also had the Supreme one90 for 1/2 a season (which I hated but I hadn't taken wide enough D instead of EE)

Been looking at upgrading to the new Vapor APX2 or even the Supreme One Total MX3 and I know it would be an easy upgrade but I've been looking at the Reebok Ribcor 30k.

I wear 7.5EE in my Vapor XXXX

My mentality is that skates have gotten even better since my Vapor XXXX so anything I buy in the top or 2nd quality skates will be better than what I have. I'm a power staker very fast first couple of strides. What I'm affraid is the ribcor has a 13degree lean forward which is fine but how much degree do vapors have and I really like tuuk lightspeed holders.

anyways looking forward to your thoughts

Shawn

Who told you Ribcores has a 13 degree fwd lean?

I assume this is what he's talking about, which I pulled from the product description on Hockey Monkey:

The other two elements of the agility profile that contribute to forward and backward flexibility are the boot cut and the 13° forward lean (RBZ is 10°, while current Tacks are 16°). Heel lock is achieved from a combination of a tapered fit in the ankle, the use of internal ankle foams, the Skate Lock feature and the Pump®.

Boot cut is different that pitch lean. Not sure what the boot cut of a Vapor is.

Vapor have same total pitch as Reebok? I know vapor have more forward pitch then supreme about 1mm?
