Warrior Franchise 2.0 Gloves - Pics Inside

Recommended Posts

hey guys

new member here

first off cool site - I am a member of a golf forum very similar to this. Didn't realize there were gear heads like me for hockey too!! LOL!

anyways ..... I did some searching around on here, past Equipment catalogues, google searches etc ... couldn't find any info

this is the info that was posted about them:

Traditional volume glove featuring a 4-bar design for a classic pro look.

Features:

  • Highly durable and lightweight Tufftek pro outer shell
  • War-Lite Impact foam with plastic inserts offer a pro level protection
  • Grey Clarino Pro Palm construction balance feel and durability where needed most
  • War-Tech performance liner keeps players dry and comfortable

I am not sure the rules on posting link's here, so I wont for now

but if MOD's approve it, I can post where I bought them

I tried these on and the Franchise's from 2010, and they felt very similar

the 2010's were the WIDE model and a 13", so it gave me an idea of what they are all about

I havent tried on the narrow's, but if i had to guess, these were maybe in the middle? Def. not as wide as the "wide model" 2010's

Really like that the logo is embroidered on the cuff, as opposed to just screen printed or whatever

Here's some pics, let me know if you have heard of them or seen them, or if they are one of those "made for" a certain store glove

FWIW I paid $99 for these :)

Definitely not a pro stock item (embroidered cuff on a Franchise model is a dead give-away) and a pro stock glove will have better stitching throughout (especially near the thumb logo). Combined with that, I've never heard of a "Franchise 2.0," and therefore I'd say these were a special make up, as nisselrm stated.

Also, SMUs will be made overseas (up until recently, Warrior pro stock gloves are made in Canada) and the quality of the gloves/materials will be a mix of pro and retail.

Pro Stock:

SMU (retailing for $119.99):

yea for sure didn't think they were pro stock

pretty much figured they were a SMU for Sport Check (tag also says assembled in the Philippines, not Canada)

they seem decent enough tho - havent played w them yet

any thoughts on them at the $99 price point?

Worth it or not?

Ehhh... It's value and worth are up to you. They're not great sellers because they're more like custom retail gloves, but hey! as long as you get some use out of 'em, I'd say it's worth it.

Just note that, depending on where you go, pro stock gloves tend to sell for around $60-90 at team sales (Canada is the exception, where most of their stuff is around $125-$300+). So, as is, your glove was a bit overpriced (because of it's lack of a recognizable or popular color theme).

there is one pair of 2010 Franchise's left at one of our local shops

they are a 13" (as i mentioned above)

they honestly felt like 14" to me, and after some reading here, I guess the wide's do fit a bit bigger and compare better to other OEM 14"

but they are still $215 CDN retail plus tax ... they wouldn't budge on price either!!! LOL!

if any of my Canadian brothers are reading this, I got a chance to get these out for a test drive

im floored by them - wow are they great gloves

I had some X60's and these are in another league

sizing is spot on, I usually wear a 14" and these fit true

soft palm, nice and wide inside and an open cuff that allows some great mobility

now have Warrior gloves, pants and elbow pads - all new to me this year and Warrior was never on my radar

they make such incredible gear

I need a stick now ;)

Warrior makes great sticks. I'd go with the QR1 right now but if you wait a bit you can fetch yourself their new twig in 2015!
