Good blade for the Bauer XV shaft

Recommended Posts

What's a good blade for the Bauer XV shaft? I want something with a pattern similar to an Yzerman, Thornton, Messier or Bondra however what I need to know is which blade with either of these patterns is best suited for use on an XV shaft for the best feel and great balance?

I wish Bauer made the XV blade with the Gagne pattern, but in a round toe rather than square.

Any suggestions are welcome, thanks.

Yup. R2 would be best, but seeing your other curve preferences (Yzerman, Thornton...)) I would reccomend getting the R2 in the Brendl curve.

Damn, HockeyGiant doesn't have any of those blades in stock. I wish they had a larger selection of high end blades since I can get 20% off with the xmas20 coupon code.

I just bought an XV from roadrunner and i was looking for the exact kind of blade. Although i don't feel like dishing out any more money for a composite blade, your best bet is to get an XV P88 blade which has a nice mid curve with a rounded toe. I wish they had the exact blade shape and curve as the bondra on sher-woods. Best pattern ever.

Just wondering if you are selling these blades. If so, how much are you asking?

THanks

I'm using the L-2 blades and I love them. I've got the Elias right now which I think is a Modano clone, but I used the Hull before and it had a bit more of a hook on it so you could check out that one. If you're looking for a wood blade, check out Bauer's tapered wood blades, I've got one in an old synergy and it feels great and has lasted a while.

Yea, I'd try to look for a Leopold L-2 rather than a Hull. Hull is an Iginla clone, and Leopold is Yzerman clone, so it would probably suit you better.

Both blades were used once in open hockey when i realized i couldnt adjust to either curve, so they are essentially brand new. PM if you want to discuss specifics.
