Jofa / RBK Elbow Pad Sizing: Pro Stock vs Retail

Recommended Posts

Ok... been trying to find the right size pads on eBay for quite a while and keep missing the mark.

I currently wear an RBK 9K retail pad in a size 6. It fits perfectly - after I had the bicep guard shortened - but the guy did a sloppy job so I am looking to replace.

I had a pro stock 7K variant in a 6 and it was huge. Too long for me and too deep.

I had a size 5 in the 8K (unsure if it was pro stock or not - I think not - and it was too small - too shallow.. length was fine.

Please share your experiences and knowledge regarding pro stock vs retail sizing on these pads and various models. It appears there are more 7Ks on the eBay market than anything else but I can't seem to find a size 5 pro stock 7K which, I think, might fit.

If this helps at all I can only speak for the Jofa Pro Stock 9144's I have in a 6, the Jofa retail 9177's in a 6 and the retail RBK 11K's in a 6 as well. I find that they all fit very similar in size to me the same..

I've found the pro stock tend to fit about a half or full size big. So if wearing a retail 6, try prostock 5. Might be minor fit differences depending on what generation 7k/8k it is.

Hey dkmiller3356,

I think I may be the one you bought the 8Ks from. Those were not prostock as there was no "pro" after the 8K and are the retail version. I found the same issue with the length being perfect but the depth not being enough with an exact same pair as those. I ended up cutting out the mesh liner in them that feel like the liner of the pro stock shin guards and got some relief. When those fell apart I was able to find a size 4/small prostock jofa/RBK that fit perfect. I'm not sure how the size 6 jofas were altered to fit you better besides shortening the bicep guard, but if the length of the 8Ks you bought from me were fine except for the depth issue, I would suggest a size 4 prostock. I also own a pair of retail warrior Ax1 elbows in a small and they fit very similar to my jofa/RBK size 4s and would suggest trying those if you want to compare the length and depth in person. My warriors come out about a half inch longer on the forearm than my jofa/rbk. If the size small retail warrior AX1 feel tight or short, then I would suggest the size 5 pro stocks as that was what my friend did in the same situation and he has had no fit issues. Hope this helps

bearcat, yeah.. that was me! I was thinking about a 4 in the pro stock but those are even harder to find than the 5!!! That being said I think I'll just have to be patient and keep searching eBay. Thanks for the advice and feedback.
