longer holder on ee width skates

Just curious, if a D and EE width skate of the same size are exactly the same length, then why does Bauer put a longer holder on the EE boot? Eg. 7.5D has a 263 while the EE has a 272.

Thanks. I had read that thread and some others. There doesn't seem to be a consensus though, as some people believe there is a length difference while others say there is not. Even if a ee is a couple mm longer, why a holder that is 9mm longer?
