wickedwrister 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2004 Any feedback on these would be appreciated. I have never seen them in person. I hear that they are less stiff than the Pros (good), but I was wodering weight and quality wise. Thanks in advance.BTW: I am about to retire a pair of Bauer Supreme 6500's. EBondo 235 Report post Posted December 24, 2004 I have a pair, I have been skating in them since march, and I absolutely love them to death...They are really good skates if you don't wanna drop 400+ on Pros
wickedwrister 0 Report post Posted December 24, 2004 How is the weight compared to the Supremes? I love the comfort of my 6500's, it's just that I feel like I am skating in concrete blocks by the end of the game.ps. I can't afford $350 for 8090's or I would be all over them. EBondo 235 Report post Posted December 24, 2004 Hmmm never tried Supremes, I've skated CCM my whole hockey career, but I feel they are really light, I wonder how much lighter it would be with t'blades, but they are really light in my opinion, and oh yeah, my skates are 7.5 Sr. if that helps
Hockey96 0 Report post Posted December 25, 2004 Ya I have been looking at the 6.0`s also. They look like nice skates. I dont have the money to be putting 400+ down on skates. 200-250 is around my price range...maybe a little higher depending on how much I like them and if I really need them. I have Mission Amp 3 right now and they seem realy heavy compared to the 6.0`s. One thing I noticed is they dont seem to drain the sweat out of the skate..Once there wet there staying wet for the rest of the game. Which would obviously make your skates very heavy. I heard the CCM`s have some type of thing that drains the skate good so they stay nice and light. Any information on if that works would be nice. Ever since I was young I have been switching in beetween skate manufacturers. I used to have CCM TACKS and im not sure how I liked them..Im just wondering if I could switch from a Mission to CCM now without any trouble. I liek the way my missions feel AT THE BEGINNING of the game but once you get to the end they weigh 5 pounds each.

Hockey96 0 Report post Posted December 26, 2004 What do you like about them so much....Im going tommorow to look at skates and am planning on buying some. If you highly recommend the 6.0`s Ill look into them. How much did you buy yours for?
Hooah4 12 Report post Posted December 26, 2004 I have a pair. Coming from Supreme 7000's they are a world less stiff. I love the skates. Had to have them baked twice though. I have a terrible pain though right below my inside ankle bone from them. Canb't see anything in the boot might be a seam on my socks. The 6.0 has a "partial composite outsole"(?) whereas the 7.0 has the fiberglas one.Got them for $202 US. Great skate for the $$$. I also like the rocker and stock radius of the skate. Gives me much more feel for the ice but it's all pp.Good luck.
EBondo 235 Report post Posted December 26, 2004 I love how the skate is soooo light, and it didn't cost me too much
wickedwrister 0 Report post Posted December 26, 2004 Hooah4,When you say "partial composite outsole", do you mean like on the Supreme's where its plastic around the edge but composite in the middle? Also, how do they rate in the weight department. I am coming out of Supreme 6500's which weigh the same as the 7000's.
Hooah4 12 Report post Posted December 27, 2004 Sorry, I wasn't on the board until this AM wickedwrister. CCM says partial composite....I think it's all plastic. I may be wrong. I can tell the difference in the insole though with the 7000 full comp vs the "partial". I think the 6.0 is a bit lighter, nothing to go crazy over though. Hope that helps. Hockey96 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2004 I just bought the 6.0s last night. So far I love them..I havent been able to skate in them yet but the feel and everything seems nice so far. They feel very light also vs. my missions. I bought them for 220 plus free sharpening and custom fitting. I am looking forward to skating in them. Thanks for the recommendations I will tell you how it goes when I skate int hem. Im looking forward to it.
wickedwrister 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2004 Is there a seam in the heal or is it a one piece liner like in the PRO's?
Hockey96 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2004 What do you mean by "seam"in the heel?
Hooah4 12 Report post Posted December 28, 2004 I don't remember a seam in the heel. The skates are a great value. I may have them baked one more time to work on the inside heel problem.
wickedwrister 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2004 What do you mean by "seam"in the heel?I mean is it one piece of cloth that is in the interior of the skate or is there stitching that runs down the back of the liner (like in the Bauer Supreme's)
Hooah4 12 Report post Posted December 28, 2004 Just got home from work. No seam, just one piece of "Dura-tex". Synthetic leather I think.
Hockey96 0 Report post Posted December 29, 2004 One thing I recently noticed with the 6.0s.....My brothers Bauer Xs are just as light as my Vector 6.0s. Thats a big deal considering his skates were only 80.00 dollars and mine were 220.00/ But liek said weight isnt everything and I can tell that CCM manufactured the 6.0s with realy nice material compared to the Xs. Just by looking at the two you can tell with just looking which have better qaulity. Just my 2.0/I cant wait to skate in these things. One also thing I realized is the 6.0s have a really stiff boot. You cant even flex your ankle. Is this good or bad. Its nothing compared to my Missions to where you could completely flex your ankle. Any insight would be nice. jimmy 194 Report post Posted December 29, 2004 The 6.0 is a great skate for the $$$. At my shop, this season it has outsold all other model skates 10-1. It is very light, perhaps only 1 oz - 2oz more than the pro model, and the pro saves it's weight mostly by using the scalloped steel. In it's price range it beats all competetors, specifically the Bauer XI. The 6.0 has the metal mesh exterior which is 5 times more durable than nylon, it has the lace lock (this is the most popular feature), it has a lace bite protector, plastic toe cap, E RPL holder and side mounted stainless runner with stainless hardware. Heat moldable. The big difference between the 6.0 and the 7.0 is the 7.0 has a more durable metal mesh, has an ultima dry footbed, and a composite sole instead of the plastic the 6.0 uses. To me upgrading to the 7.0 is not worth the $100 price difference. The 6.0 skate will suit most hockey platyers in comfort, features, and durability. Speaking of comfort. Of the 100 plus pairs I sold this season, only one customer had any miscomfort. Most needed just the one heat molding and the skate was ready to go. Virtually no break in period. I have a lot of customers who are skating 4 plus times a week and the skate seems to be holding up very well to abuse. Unlike a Bauer Vapor, which breaks down real quick. Tj=his skate has turned out to be a winner.
