Toe Curves with beveled toe (e28) vs Toe Curves with a flatter to rocker

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

So ive been looking into ordering some custom twigs but have a problem. Ive been using the e28 for awhile but would ideally like to find a closed toe curve thats straighter in the heel/mid. This logically led me to the warrior gionta but really like the flat bottom in the heel/mid and the beveled toe rocker of the e28 because i pull-in when i snap shot......the weird rounded heel rocker and the relatively flat toe rocker on the gionta makes me a bit hesitant.

Do any of you guys that use the pull in snap shot have any experience transitioning from such opposite rockers? Do you simply have to transition to a snapshot that keeps the majority of the blade flat on the ice while you shoot?

Also, i feel comfortable stickhandling on the heel/mid section of the blade so the flat bottom of the e28 is nice, does the rounded heel rocker of the gionta just make you have to keep the puck in the mid/toe at all times?

open to suggestions of other patterns too like the smyth or kovy

Thanks for the help

here are some googled pics for comparison. imo the gionta rocker looks flatter in person compared to the rounded heel

Go with the Gionta from Warrior or the Smyth from Sherwood. I use the E28 on current stick, the Vapor X1 from Bauer. I, like you, pull in for snappers. You should have a very short adjustment period.
