Skate cut on back of boot- best repair method?

Recommended Posts

My buddy caught a skate to the inside heel of his CCM V08 skate. The cut goes through to the liner but the liner itself is intact. The cut is 2" long and the foam is compressed/cut about 1/2" the length of the cut. It's basically hollow a quarter inch on either side of the cut. I have two days to patch this before he leaves for a tounry. Skate still seems to be rigid. The damaged area looked worse before I pried out the shell with a screwdriver.

So I'm thinking I'll insert some foam into the cavity and use a two part epoxy to attach a plastic piece over the area. I'm just looking for a temporary fix to get through the next 7 days before he gets new skates. Any suggestions ?

Went with the original plan, stuffed the cavity with foam and applied epoxy. Had a plastic piece to put over that, but the repair is very rigid.
