CCM Vector 6.0 vs. 7.0...and up

Recommended Posts

I was wondering what the difference was beetween the CCM 6.0`s and the 7.0`s to the pros. It seems that the 7.0`s and up have different features that you dont find in the 6.0s. The 7.0s have-

ULTIMA DRY™ liner for a better blend of comfort, durability and moisture management....MICROTEX† trims maximize abrasion resistance and long term durability....ULTIMA DRY™ footbed features a lightweight natural 3D heel cup and moisture management system...# CCM® E-BLADE™ RPL blade holder maximizes energy transfer and features replaceable (RPL) runner attachment and...PROformance Profile Stainless™ steel runner

I noticed all those features on the 7.0s that arent on the 6.0s. Im just wondering if it makes that much of a difference beetween the two. I was looking at the 6.0s because I dont want to drop alot of money on the 7.0s.

One thing that plays a big factor with me is weight...I noticed with my current skates(Mission Amp 3s) that they would absorb all the moisture from my foot and stay like that for the rest of the game. I noticed on the new skates that some come with a moisture management type system to release water from your footbed? Well im just wondering so if anyone has any information it would be useful.

There's very little difference between the two; especially in weight. I suspect the difference will be in durability as the more expensive skates are probably built more deliberately and with slightly better materials. Unless you're skating every day, you'll probably never notice the difference between the 6.0's 7.0's and the Pro's. I have 6.0's w/ T'Blades. They're very light. I also have ZG110's (LHS ruptured the metal mesh while punching out the 6.0's and sold me these @ cost) which are comparable to the 7.0's. Not too much of a difference between the two. I replaced 13 y.o Bauer 2000's with them and couldn't be happier. Couldn't see the point in going for the Pro's b/c the 6.0's seemed plenty stiff. However, I have noticed that the 6.0's are softening up a bit. Nothing I'd be concerned about though. They seem to be conforming to my foot more I guess. I'm 235lbs and they still seem plenty stiff to me.

Thanks for the welcome! This is an awesome bulletin board - a friend just showed it to me. I hope I can add a few facts to the myths and assumptions around t-blade, so that if somebody rejects t-blade, it is at least a conscious choice ...

And re. the "CEO": we are just a small start-up company, and people around here call me Mathias ...
