Pour Question

Recommended Posts

I apologize if this is a stupid question. What is the difference between a single pour wheel and dual pour... Also what wheels on the market are examples and whats the benefit of one over the other

Single pour is where the wheel is made from one urethane pour (or hardness), a dual or triple pour is where they layer different urethane hardnesses on top of each other ie the first layer could be a 74a hardness and the top layer a 82a hardness. The idea behind a 2 or 3 pour layer is the softer inner layer(s) give the wheel some flex so that it maintains a better grip whilst the harder outer layer gives more durability and speed, trying to get the best of both worlds. With a single pour you get a stiffer wheel that is more durable and less prone to chunking / splitting (relative to its hardness rating) but you have less grip.

An example is Shooters or Steels are single pours, addictions are multi pour.
