street/roller hockey gloves question

Recommended Posts

Hi, I play rollerhockey and I was looking for a new pair of gloves, I saw some roller and street hockey gloves that may be cooler than the ice ones.

the Mission Inhaler DS1 or 2 , looks that have enough protection and more ventilation compared to the ice hockey gloves, have anyone tried them ? do they worth the money ?

Also Ive seen some street hockey gloves like http://www.prohockeylife.com/other-street-ball-hockey-c-8_52/bauer-pro-street-hockey-gloves-p-12357 , I was wondering if they give enough protection for rollerhockey ,

appreciate your comments and other suggestions,

thanks!

I wouldn't recommend the street hockey ones for roller as they don't offer much, if any, protection. You're better off getting a clearance pair of ice hockey gloves at that price point. The entry level ice hockey gloves will be light and breathable enough for roller.

Agree with this.

If you're worried about cooling, you might also want to look for gloves with mesh material in the finger gussets.

wow, some pretty ignorant comments *if they were based towards the Mission DS range*.

How can Mission (owned by Bauer) make a glove that has "less" protection. If you get slashed or take a puck to the hand ..its going to hurt. The glove's sole purpose is to protect you. The Mission DS range is no exception.

pretty sure they were speaking about the cheap STREET hockey gloves. the Mission DS series is for organized play (inline or ice), not street hockey.

Yep, I think we were both referring to the "Bauer Pro Street Hockey" gloves below the OP linked to.

The Mission DS line looks real nice for roller hockey use. They just don't have the plastics that many of the mid to top of the line ice gloves have (not sure if you care about that or not). Ventaliation looks way better though, which would be nice for outdoor summertime use.

Click the link the OP posted or see the gloves mentioned at your LHS and you'll understand what we're talking about.
