Question about D and EE sizing

Is the heel in a D skate the same size as an EE skate? I was told at a hockey shop that this is true.

Short answer: No, they are not the same size.

Longer answer: It depends. In CCM and Bauer, the E/EE skates have a larger, B-size heel. Each skate model's heel is a different shape, though, so some heels in a EE skate feel smaller than others.

Not only can the heel be larger but the skate can be longer by around 1mm - 2mm.
