My kid has pair of Vapor X:20 with LS Pro holders & runners. I understand the runners can not be tightened, only replaced. I recognize these are low end skates, but they fit him well. Does it make sense to replace the runners & holders or just retire them? LHS suggested $150 to replace with LS Edge. Is the runners working loose a typical problem with LS pro?

Was thinking that sounds expensive, but then again factor in the LS-Edge Holder + steel + work and 150$ doesn't sound too far off.

I'd still suggest to shell out a few additional dollars and get a mid-end model (maybe discounted one from previous year?) rather than trying to save some entry level skates.

Scrap them, absolutely not worth it. You can get 2-3 pairs of comparable level clearance Vapor models for that price without factoring in time.

You can get x60 Vapors for $130 or less. Basically the same Boot as x:20, but with Edge holders.
