Holders changeable ability and its durable, what's better?

Recommended Posts

Few days ago, I purchased a pair of Quikblade holder and runner for test use.
I'm interested in quick changeable holder as Tuuk Lightspeed Edge. My local ice rinks which usually I use have different ice quality, and also its condition is not always even. It can be said same thing for my body condition or feelings. So I'm interested in holders which can replace and attach at the place quickly.

But one of the biggest problem of Tuuk Lighspeed Edge is that it will be made a gap between plastic holder and steel runner for long time using. I don't know why it will cause, plastic is shaved by release and attach steel, or steel is filed by honing. Though usually LSE will get chattering.

Lightspeed Edge or Quikblade, the quick changeable holders can't prevent its chattering for long term using?
If so, for example I feel little good Graf holders. It can be approached to holder's screw with wearing the skates. If carry the minimum electric screw driver in the bag, maybe I can swap runners not slow.
I think Reebok or CCM holders are not good because It looks not easy to screw up.

How do you think what holder is better for steel change ability at the place and also durability?

You should really look at the CCM speed blade 4.0 holder. I have had great luck with them and their predecessor, the e-blade pro. The two bolt runner mounting system is sturdy and allows for steel changes that are fast enough for anyone, really. Swapping steel takes 5 minutes at most, and requires an 8mm socket in addition to the flathead screwdriver. I prefer the CCM holder to the Graf Cobra for durability, as the Cobra holders have a tendency to crush behind the brass nut if not torqued perfectly and that causes the holder to need replacement.

CCM or Reebok holders were good if its female nut was built in the holder and we could fix the runner without 2nd hand and driver for preventing corotation. Honestly I should say that it's little hard to quick change under the situation; already put the skates on and do it myself only at the rink side.
Not only Cobra series, but also Graf Attack holder have the same screw bolt hole which we can access without putting off the boots on its behind.

Yeah there's the bolt on top and then a metal screw piece that fits inside the runner and you have to slide it through a hole in the holder and then screw the bolt into it. Definitely not something you are going to be able to do with the boot still on.

However once you have the boot off doing that whole process isn't very hard, you can change both runners very quickly, like 5 minutes total for both skates.

I want to replace it with boots still on. Or it can be said as I should so. After practice would start, it's not easy to put skates off.

I've received Quikblade holders. I will use it for long time test. If I could get better use without chattering in short term, it's better.

Honestly to say my best wish, I feel as the best if Bauer allowed Step makes Tuuk Lightspeed Edge and they make it in V-steel grade.
