430$ Tacks or wait for supreme 190 on sale

A friend of mine has a pair of new 7.5D tacks to sell, and I am thinking buying these as my backup pair.

Do you guys think it is a good deal, or should I wait for 190 on sale?

 

background: I have always been a bauer guy and have never tried CCM.  And I am now using x100 7.5ee, a little narrow for me but that's OK.  This friend of mine is 500 miles from me, so I can only do a guess work.

7.5D Tacks will be pretty wide and deep.  Supreme 190s are already on sale at Total Hockey, as the new Supreme line releases in April.  The Supremes will be less of a departure from your current skate, but will still fit differently than your Vapors.  I've found that when I'm sizing Supremes, I often go a half size down.  I'd recommend going to a shop and trying on both, then make your decision.  Supreme skates run a width larger than their tag, so a D is actually an E, EE is actually EEE, etc.

I  too agree sizing a half down when in Supremes makes sense.  I could not believe the difference in length vs. the vapor line.  Same size skates, an extra quarter inch in length after break in for the MX3s.  vs.  1X.

I used to have a pair of one.8 7.5ee. After half a year of use, 10+ hours on ice per week, these one.8 became too roomy for my feet. So I think if I go with supreme I will stick with 7.5D.
