Oilers re-up McDavid for 8 years/$100M

The Edmonton Oilers have locked up their 20-year-old franchise player, as the team announced Wednesday that its has signed captain Connor McDavid to an eight-year, $100 million contract extension. TSN Hockey

The signing we were all keeping an eye on. I don't blame Connor for looking to get paid. I know most people will say it is selfish for him to do so. I say that you've put in the work to put yourself in this position to capitalize on the leverage you hold. It's up to EDM's management/ownership to figure out how divvy out the rest of the money under the cap (which we expect to go up as time goes on). Next up: Leon Draisaitl.
