bl4 39 Report post Posted September 1 Has anyone tried these? https://www.truetempersports.com/en-us/hockey/true-pro-4-roll-player-gloves.html?srsltid=AfmBOoojx4fJOTn9hMxidvIi2hkmhzs8iSDbxmqj9BTeHwpMtIqTZ426 Particularly tempting on Labor Day sales, but I also think of True gloves as being very tight-fitting, so I'm curious how their 4-rolls fit. Any thoughts appreciated!

bl4 39 Report post Posted September 22 Just saw this. Those custom Whalers colors are pretty great. Trying to decide if I'm going to grab a pair in navy. If so, will share my thoughts.
bl4 39 Report post Posted October 5 Just picked up a pair of these and will be returning them. Some thoughts: They're great looking gloves. Out of the box/off the shelf, the quality and materials feel great, and the gloves themselves are comfortable. My problem was with the fit/feel. For context, I've been wearing Eagles for about 25 years, and I've been wearing the same pair of PPFs for over a decade. I love the traditional/4-roll style. I don't have particularly big hands and have pretty narrow wrists, but I like a loose fitting glove. It's possible that my sense of how a glove should fit is unduly influenced by how broken-in my Eagles are, but the Trues felt to me like a 4 roll for someone who wants 4-roll style with a more modern fit. I found them snug through the hand--not in a bad way (as I said, they were quite comfortable). I had two big issues, though: (1) the cuff. The IW video mentions a narrow diameter of the cuff, and they aren't lying. The cuff definitely flares some, but I found it frustratingly restrictive--particularly with modern elbow pads that tend to go further down the forearm. (2) it's hard to describe, but the space between the thumb and forefinger felt small. That is, when I tried holding a stick with these, it felt like the stick was kind of jammed in there. It's possible that one or both of these issues would be resolved with significant break-in, but neither of these were issues that I encountered with my Eagles. So, planning to return these and shell out for some custom Eagles. Hope that these thoughts are helpful. Again, the gloves are nice. These don't strike me as a great fit for folks looking for an old-school 4 roll, but maybe they'd be more appealing for someone used to a tapered/contoured glove who wanted to try a 4-roll style
