Buying used custom true skates

Recommended Posts

Ok ok I know this in some peoples mind may be weird.

Here is my issue, I recently bought a Bauer Mach size 10 fit1 from a place that didn’t have a Bauer fit machine. Felt great in store, first skate way too big. Dropped $1100 useless to me now. Currently selling them.

In the past I had Easton mako size 10.5d great fitting skate but worn down too fast but perfect sizing.

My Bauer scan at a different store said I’m a 9.5.

aside from true tf9/tf7 what size true should I be looking at?

10.5?

Sounds like you have at least two stores near you. The store with the Bauer scanner and the one without. Go and try on a ton of skates. Seems like you need to figure out what size skate you wear and what boot shape best fits your foot. You’re all over the place with sizing.

Do you have access to a store with staff who are skilled at fitting skates? Go and have them help you get your size and shape dialed in. You’ve already made a 1k+ mistake. If you don’t have a local store you trust, spend some time and money driving to one you do trust. Buying skates blind off of the internet, especially customs that may have some weird stuff going on, is just throwing more money around that may or may not work.

Totally agree with @start_today. Try whatever you can on to avoid buying more boots that you can't use.

Personally, I felt great in a Hyp2rLite 9 Fit 1 in the store--toes feeling the cap but not smashed at all. Bauer's scanner recommended Fit 1 at just over size 10.

10.5 True sounds like you'd be swimming. I wear 9.5R Catalyst 7s and I don't think I could comfortably drop down to a 9 because of the toe box shape.
