CCM Reload Holder and XS Steel Compatibility Issue – Need Help

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

I recently upgraded to the new CCM Reload holder and I'm trying to use it with my existing XS steel. I was told the XS steel is compatible with the Reload holder, but I'm running into a problem: when I insert the steel, the rear pin won't fully engage, and I'm concerned the steel might not stay securely in place.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? Is there a modification or quick fix to make the XS steel fit properly in the Reload holder? I’d rather not have to replace all my steel if there’s a workaround.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Have you tried putting pressure down into the steel then releasing the trigger? How much of the pin is actually sticking out?

Fyi, just because the rear pin isn't ALL the way flush with the holder doesn't mean it's not secure and will pop out. The notch inside the regular xs steel may just not be as deep as the notch in the reload steel thus causing the pin to not be completely flush. I've seen this happen even with the dial type xs holders.

If you try to pull the steel out and it's not coming out, then it's fine.
