Forgotten lockout?

Recommended Posts

I like Simmons stuff on ESPN..but he's the last guy to really be talking about hockey and the lockout..

the Sox, Pats and Celtics are his teams which pretty much takes him year round and the guy seems to watch every tv show in existence...I don't think he, or many of his friends were ever fans of the game..

but i do agree that the "I don't care" is more the stuff we say when we want to act like we don't care...and push stuff off, or it has just gone on for so long....it wasn't like that in '94 when Baseball was on strike..and because they had already cancelled a WS and played most of a season, it was a lot harder on people...also..i think people were a lot more pissed off because it was the players who walked out...the same people whose jersey we wear, autograph we seek, etc

a lockout is about principles...a bunch of them..where you get to judge for yourself...at this point.."I don't care" means "i'm over it" because its gone of for so freakin long..

there was an article in the Dallas News yesterday talking about how the Stars are going to have to rebuild their fan base and go back to as if it were 1993...that is just BS...

there are Dr. PepperStar Centers like every 6 miles it seems..they have close to 10000 season ticket holders..and a fairly exciting team..they have done the groundwork to build the sport and develop fans of all levels...know why people don't go to games at the AAC?? its freakin expensive..all but the last few rows are $40 and up..but most of them are $75 and greater..

its not feasible to attend a game unless you're dropping a couple bills..whereas and i discussed this in another thread a few weeks back..i can spend $40-50 and be in the Greens at MSG...
