"The NHL lockout reached its 145th day and has wiped out 797 games of the 1,230 games on the 2004-05 regular-season schedule."

Where does the 1,230 come from?

There are 30 teams......

They each play an 82 game schedule (41 Home, 41 away)

Last time I checked - 30 X 82 = 2,460 Games - not 1,230

Has everyone only been counting Home Games?

Or am I missing something?

Each team plays 82 games, but they arn't seperate games. IE, Edmonton and Calgary play each other 5 times a year, so 5 of their games are shared. Divide your # by 2 ;)

exactly, if all 30 teams played each other in one day there would only be 15 games.
