burnt marks

The other day i noticed my blade was loose in my shaft, so i asked a friend to heat it up for me. SO he took it into the locker room while i kept on skating and when i got it back there where rather bad burnt marks right above the blade on the shaft. its yellow and the burnt marks are orange/brown and a little transparent. you can see to the webbing of the inside. Will this make it signefficatnly weaker, or have damaged it in any way? And i know he used a heat gun.

if you can see the structrual webbing on the inside of the shaft than it is going affect your durability.what kind of shaft was it? sounds like you friend didnt know what he was doing lol

I burned an ultralite like that way back when and it held up fine.

Chances are you will have problems with blades staying in the shaft, I see it all the time. I almost feel bad teling people the problem is from the way some doofus replaced their blade at another shop.
