Finding the right visor

Recommended Posts

I bought a Large Mission Carbster helmet and I found that my brand new Bauer 1000 half visor won't fit on it because there is no place to snap on the side straps.

I guess I need a visor that can be secured by two screws at the temple.

Can any of you guys help me identify which visors will fit the Mission Carbster so I can shop on-line without seing it?

Thanks.

Take a look at the Misison Site. Looks like the pros that wear Carbsters have Itech or Oakley visors...I can't tell exactly what cut.

Hi, When I was using a carbster I used a Itech stright cut visor. It was a little tight but it fit on fine. The itech stright cut is a different sytle visor thou. If you want to attach your current visor you may have to drill some holes, which proberly would not be advised by the manufactor.

i used to have a carbster, and there are places for straps to snap in. i am not familar with what you got, but i know for sure, i was able to strap in my half ITECH shield.

if what you have, has the 2 screws on the forehead, it should work just fine....

let me know if any of that was unclear. heh

I have done it in past years that i didnt even need straps i cut them off my cage i took the little clip on the front (the two that hold the cage in the middle) and put them on the side where the j clips were supposed to be so i had 4 (two in the front and one on each side) of those clips rather than 2 in the front and it worked really well no safety problems or anything. but i recently went back to straps because my hair is long and sliding the helmet over my head i couldnt keep my hair out of my face

I'd go for an Itech, I know for a fact their cages can fit on almost every helmet so I'm assuming it's the same with their visors.

That's not a bad Idea. I'll give that a shot before I drop more $$$ on an Oakley visor.

Otherwise, I'll have an unused Bauer Visor and an Itech Visor up on ebay soon, LOL. Cuz I'm not giving up the Carbster. Too comfortable.

I like the fact the Itechs come with washers/spacers so they don't pull your helmet apart like the Oakleys.

I also like the J clips that come with the Itech full cages. I used to use a CCM cage w/o J clips. After using the Itech with the clips, it felt much more sturdy.
