Hollow sound in OPS

Recommended Posts

The other day I purchased a custom L-2 (pro stock) OPS from a friend. The stick is great except for a hollow metal like sound whenever I pass, shoot or let alone hit the ice. I took a flashlight to check if the foam at the bottom was in place, and it was, just to make sure I took a wooden rod and jammed the foam down. Even after I tried to somewhat fix it, the stick still has a funny sound. The stick is brand new and is structurally sound. I was just curious if anybody knew what the heck I could jam down the shaft to maybe prevent the "hollow feeling"/ sound ;)

I've seen an M-1 where the fuse point was cracked and the stick sounded like a shaft/blade that needs more glue.

I'd try to heat it up a little and pull out the blade and glue it back in.

hope this helps.

My 1100 fused did that at first when I got it, but I took off the butt end and shook out a huge chunk of glue/epoxy...whatever it was...and it stopped the noise. I had to work for a while to get it out, so that might be it.

From my experiences, all mission sticks make that noise. I have twins on my team that both have missions (m-1 and l-2) and they bothe seem to make that noise.

I didn't even know that the L-2 was an OPS. I use the shaft blade combo, does the pro stock make ops L-2's or did I just read wrong?

Last year when the L-2's came out I think the first run of them were one pieces. This season I believe they switched it to the two piece with tapered shaft/blade.
