New Skates

Recommended Posts

Hey, I was just looking for some advice as to weather I should pick up a pair of skates now and break them in over the next three weeks (spring break) or if I should wait for some of the new models to come out.

Right now I use vapor XX's. I really am not buying the hype for vapor XXX's. I was thinking about the 8090's but have heard very mixed stories about them. So, then I was thinking about graf's, but a kid who used them last year at my rink said his got waterlogged because of our warm rink. At the moment I'm not really ruling out anything, and I'm just lost on how the newer skates (synergies, missions) will match up against this fall's releases.

you gotta keep in mind that all these skates are going to be a different fit on your foot. I hate to see this.. this is such a commom misconsemption that so many people think they can go into any skate they want. Anyway, what skates were u referring to for this fall? Flexlite 12? Rbk 8K? New Pro Tacks?

u cant tell someone what is comfortable and what isnt for them.... lol really now....

we actually all tested out the flexlite 12s and were so disappointed in them that we decided not to carry the whole line

once again: the best skate is the one that fits your properly

well you may like them. you must keep this in mind. But for us, about 6 or 7 of us tried them on and found the same problem with an incredible pain back in the heel that felt like steel... even after heating and bumping. Furthermore the skate just fits like shit and you have to have a really specific foot type to fit it correctly. Also, so many people hate the look and that makes it even harder to move. The V-12s from this year we had to bust out at crazy prices just to move them and we finally did it after much pressure

I really like how the v12 fit but the look killed me. The flexlight looks a little nicer and I hope they fit the same. Do you know a date when they ship

I've been wearing bauers for like 8 years. I don't know what fits right and what doesn't. That's why I was asking for more about a general feeling.

i hate to ask these types of questions, im also a believer in the best fiting skate is the best one, but why types of feet (in general) did you think the flexlite 12's would fit? (i.e. wide, thick feet.....etc)

well as a general guide line. the V12s will fit a small ankle, smaller heel and a wider forefoot with not alot of volume through the instep, its a rare find
