wich skates to get?

ive wanted the 709 gary roberts SE's for a while now, and can get them for about 190. i went and tryed them on and i think they feel good, very comfy. but then i was looking through the catalog at my LHS (the 1 i work at, thats why i can get the skates so cheep) and it was talking about the 707 i believe it was. its a "forward skate" and is saposed to have really goodforward flex. According to them, its the same skate federov wears. but would the extra forward flex mess me up? if i went with those i would get them custom, so i guess im asking 2 questions. 1) what skate do YOU THINK i should go with? 2) if i go with the 707, should i jsut get regular great whites, or get them jsut like feddys?

ok both of those skates fit different feet. the 709 provides a deeper ankle and also a much wider foot. The 707 has a wider heel and a narrower forefoot which is also a deeper boot but not as deep or as wide as a 709. hardly anybody I know can fit in a 709. The reason they may feel so good is from how wide they are. If you go with the 707's just get the great whites because federov wears custom and graf custom skates can have any boot with any fit

ok if he has a big wide foot then good itll suit him fine but if he has a skinny foot or not so wide then itll be bad for him

Thats great and everything, but I don't see what it has to do with what I posted. Eric has (or had) a pair of Federov's 703 Great Whites which is why I thought that he still wore 703s. If I'm wrong, then correct me.

thats the thing. i DONT have a wide foot, thats the only reason im hestant toward getting them. but when i tryed them on they fealt real good. but the 707s are an even more odd fit?

The 707s are a very odd fitting skate. I tried them on and I have a wide foot an they just didn't fit like my 705s do. They are definately a skate you need to try on before you buy.

Get whatever fits best, don't try to analyze it too much.

thats whats tough.. i cant try on the 707. i think ill jsut go with the 709, thanls for all the help
